The ACLU of Michigan and friends are excited to be among the first in West Michigan to screen this new film about United State Supreme Court justice and unexpected pop culture icon, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Immediately after the film, we’ll hear reflections from West Michigan women leading the charge for the rights of LGBT people, voting rights, and the rights of immigrants.
At the age of 85, ACLU Women’s Rights Project co-founder Ginsburg has developed a breathtaking legal legacy. As the United States Supreme Court leans increasingly to the right, Ginsburg’s vigorous dissenting opinions and ferocious 20-push-up workouts have earned this tiny, soft-spoken intellectual giant the status of rock star and the title “Notorious RBG.” Through intimate interviews and unprecedented access to Ginsburg’s life outside the court, RBG tells the electric story of Ginsburg’s consuming love affairs with both the Constitution and her beloved husband Marty—and of a life’s work that led her to become an icon of justice in the highest court in the land.
We hope that you’ll join us on May 31. Get tickets online HERE. A limited number will be available at the box office on opening night.
