4.13-4.14 Progressive/Conservative Summit 2018: A Common Ground Initiative of the Hauenstein Center

What does the future of our democracy look like? What is happening to our commitments, values, and institutions in this era of increasing polarization and partisanship? Is a focus on gender, racial, and sexual difference contributing to the problem? And how can we come together around shared principles?

The Progressive Women’s Alliance of West Michigan, in partnership with the Kate and Richard Wolters Foundation, the Russell Kirk Center for Cultural Renewal, and the Hauenstein Center at Grand Valley State University invites you to join a group of distinguished scholars, representing a broad range of political perspectives, for all or part of a two-day conversation on the history, present, and future of partisan politics and democratic principles.
