Strong Voices in Art, Music & Politics gathers progressive people in West Michigan each spring to raise money and awareness for the progressive cause.

STRONG VOICES REPORT - ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER

Thank you to the over two hundred PWA members and supporters who attended our Strong Voices in Art, Music & Politics fundraiser on April 15th, 2009. Once again, it was a very enjoyable time, with great music, great food, great people, and plenty of interesting auction items to look at and bid on. This year we enjoyed musical performances by Rachael Davis, Lux Land, Jen Sygit and Karisa Wilson.

The event was buzzing as attendees enjoyed refreshments and conversation in the beautiful facilities of San Chez restaurant’s third floor space. The evening’s silent bidders stayed engaged with some friendly competition, and most of them ended up with at least one art piece of their choosing.  The live music enhanced the experience for all.  We appreciate all the donors (including all artists and musicians), underwriters, and volunteers who made 2009 Strong Voices possible. And all of you, the friends and supporters of the Progressive Women’s Alliance!

Overall, we netted approximately $8,500 after expenses for the event. With the many races coming up in 2010, there are going to be some progressive candidates who are very grateful for all our efforts.
