PROGRAMS IN GRAND RAPIDS AND ON THE LAKESHORE
We generally meet every month on the third Wednesday at the Women’s City Club in the Heritage Hill district, downtown Grand Rapids, for an ever-changing, always stimulating, one-hour look at a current topic from a progressive point of view. Topics range from regional to national to international issues of electoral interest, always with a fresh perspective, followed by a lively Q and A. Refreshments (including a $5/glass wine ticket bar) are at 5 pm; the program runs from 5:30 to 6:30. Get on our Grand Rapids mailing list to find out more by emailing mailbox@progressivewomensalliance.org
Along the lakeshore, we host community forums, panel discussions, book discussions, and other programs from September through May, generally on the fourth Monday of the month. Get on our lakeshore mailing list to find out more by emailing PWAlakeshore@progressivewomensalliance.org

Events
We host several major gatherings throughout the year. Strong Voices in Art, Music & Poltics is our spring fundraiser, which brings in a fabulous array of progressive speakers, great music, delectable food, and great art in a lively, uplifting evening in downtown Grand Rapids. We also host Strong Currents, an end-of-summer gathering on the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline. This event gathers like-minded progressive people from across West Michigan for great food, music, and two amazing auctions: one of art by shoreline artists in a wide range of media, the other of goods and services for the mind, body, and spirit—everything from massage to homemade jams. Come on out! You’ll be surprised by how many like-minded folks there are in West Michigan. And whether you know anyone or not, you’ll find yourself among friends! We also host a variety of other gatherings, get-togethers, and fundraisers at various times throughout the year. |
