"PWA Progressive Leadership Awards Luncheon 2012"

On Monday, February 20, PWA will honor two leaders from the progressive community--one who has worked tirelessly in progressive politics for many years, and one who has recently brought new energy to progressive causes in the Greater Grand Rapids area. These honorees are Mary Alice Williams and Eric Foster. Come hear their stories and let them inspire you to do more in 2012. At the same time, enjoy the company of many other West Michigan progressives as you dine at the University Club, on the 10th floor of the Fifth Third Center, 111 Lyon St. NW in downtown Grand Rapids.

Reserve your spot today! Tickets are $50. E-mail your reservation, with your name(s), to mailbox@progressivewomensalliance.org and then pay at the door, or click here to purchase your reservation online.

TAKE NOTE...

Why give your time and/or money to the Progressive Women's Alliance?
1. PWA gives candidates and officeholders a clear idea of where PWA members stand on an issue. Because we band together and pool our resources, Michigan legislators pay plenty of attention to PWA's stance.
2. Giving to PWA expands your influence beyond your own legislative district. PWA directs money to Michigan candidates you may not know about who align with you on issues and who need our support.
3. The PWA Candidate Committee makes a carefully studied, well-informed decision on whom to endorse. The organization takes the time to do the research you may not have time to conduct.
4. PWA makes candidate contributions based on your progressive values as articulated by the membership and leadership of the organization.

PWA SUPPORTS PREGNANCY PREVENTION FUNDING - Click here to see the letter sent by the PWA Board to the Michigan Department of Community Health to urge protection of funding for pregnancy prevention programs.

PWA OPPOSES ELIMINATION OF MICHIGAN EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT - Click here to see the letter sent by the PWA Board to all members of the House Tax and Senate Finance committees, our recent endorsees, and our local senators and representatives. PWA Chairperson Melissa Janes said, "With the geography of our membership, we cover an impressive number of House and Senate districts. It was a lot of fun to send so many copies of this letter."

Speak with a louder voice! When we bundle our dollars together, the progressive message has greater force and travels farther. United, we can elect more candidates for state and federal government who will advance our political values! Now you can spread your donations across the year, maintaining PWA as a political power.
